In the year 2023, the DLSA, Tinsukia has provided assistance to four persons who were suffering from mental illness. Out of the aforesaid four persons, three were provided direct assistance from DLSA, Tinsukia by deputing PLVs for securing treatment from Government Health Facility in accordance with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017 and the SOP formulated thereunder by the government. The remaining one person out of the aforesaid four was an inmate of District Jail, Tinsukia, and as such, he was provided assistance by way of engaging panel lawyer for obtaining an order from court for treatment of the said inmate at Civil Hospital Tinsukia. Besides that, assistance was also provided to one of the aforesaid four persons for obtaining disability certificate. All the above assistance were provided under NALSA (Legal Services to Mentally ill and Disabled Persons) Scheme 2015.
